Spook the Lake: A Beloved Fall Tradition

Spook the Lake has transformed into an immensely popular on-water event and a cherished fall tradition at Smith Lake. It draws hundreds back to the area to bolster our lake’s economy during the off-season while supporting the mission of Alabama Lakewide Charities (ALC)!

Event Details

Held annually on the second Saturday of October, this ALC event unites residents and visitors of the Smith Lake area for a delightful experience of trick-or-treating by boat at volunteer-hosted docks throughout the lake. It’s truly a unique celebration!

• SPOOK the LAKE will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. After the trick-or-treating, you’re invited to join us for the AfterSpook Party at Trident Marina.
• The AFTERSPOOK is the after-party and is hosted at Trident Marina from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Trident Marina goes all out for our Spookers and Docks by hosting this festive party with music, a bouncy house and other activities for all to enjoy! We recommend you drive to Trident as boat docking is limited.
