We know that you know that Spook the Lake is a HUGE, highly-anticipated annual event attended by hundreds if not thousands of lake lovers. But, did you know that Spook the Lake is the LARGEST event on Smith Lake? The Poor Man Poker Run (PMPR) is believed to be the biggest, and in terms of revenue for Alabama Lakewide Charities (ALC), it is. But Spook the Lake is estimated to be as much as 5X the size of the PMPR in terms of actual PARTICIPATION. That’s MASSIVE! People come out of the woodwork to Trick-or-Treat at this amazing event!

We Need Your Financial Support!

After event expenses, funds that we take in from event partners goes toward the purchase, training, upgrades & updates of deep-water recovery equipment for the people of Smith Lake.
 
Spook the Lake brings hundreds and hundreds of people BACK to Smith Lake in the off-season. This one-day surge of boat traffic is a fun, family-friendly, on-water event that gets more popular every year. If you are a business that caters to the Smith Lake community, this is your opportunity to show your support for the lake community and support our Mission. 
 

Event Partnership for Spook the Lake opens in August and features the main partner(s) and supporting partners which cover expenses for both the event and the “AfterSpook” kid’s party afterward. Amounts for the main partnership change annually according to that year’s event and after-party plans and needs. Funds raised in excess of expenses go directly to support Alabama Lakewide Charities’ mission.

Details to become an Event Partner:

  • $500 Donation – Your business dock will be added to the map and you will be recognized as an Event Partner on our Facebook pages as well as a shared to the 38,000 member Lewis Smith Lake, Alabama Facebook group!
  • $1,000 Donation – 2 free STL Shirts – Your business dock will be added to the map and you will be recognized as an Event Partner on our Facebook pages as well as a shared to the 38,000 member Lewis Smith Lake, Alabama Facebook group! In addition you will be recognized as an AfterSpook Party Partner. You will be able to hang a 3×5 foot banner at the AfterSpook.
  • $1,500 Donation – 2 free STL Shirts and one 3×5 foot STL Flag for your boat or dock. Your business dock will be added to the map and you will be recognized as an Event Partner on our Facebook pages as well as a shared to the 38,000 member Lewis Smith Lake, Alabama Facebook group! In addition you will be recognized as an AfterSpook Party Partner. You will be able to hang a 3×5 foot banner at the AfterSpook and will be credited for helping to pay for the bouncey house and the blow-up slide. 

Not everybody who participates in the event comes to the after-party. Based on past events, you can expect about 150-200 people at the AfterSpook. 

Partners who wish to host a dock in addition to participating in the AfterSpook get the most eyeballs. In addition to having a blast handing out candy or treats to the kiddos, this is a perfect time to show your understanding and support for Smith Lake’s charitable and search and recovery needs.
